Shareable Decision Log
We believe that well-documented decisions lead to better understanding, trust, and accountability. Because of that, we've built shareable decision logs that allow you to create a public-facing view of your decisions. You can now share a simple link to your decision log, and anyone can access it to gain insight into the decisions you make.
Some benefits to managing a decision log:
- Transparency: Show stakeholders, team members, or anyone interested in your project the rationale behind your decisions, promoting better understanding and trust.
- Accessibility: If you choose to have it open, you can share the decision log via a simple link. No need for permissions or logins.
- Clarity: The public-facing decision log lays out all the details related to your decisions, such as the decision makers, time and date, reasons, potential impact, and more, promoting clear communication.
- Accountability: Show the who, what, when, and why of every decision, fostering accountability among decision-makers.
- Archiving: Keep track of past decisions in one easy-to-access place. This provides valuable insights and learnings for future decision-making processes.
Getting started with the decision log is straightforward! Navigate to your Decision Board site, select the 'Log' in the menu. From there, if the list is empty, you can create a new decision, set the status to 'Decided' and you will see the new decision show up in your decision log. To make it public, just click on the 'gear' icon to manage the settings of your decision log (only the space admin can make a log public)
Once your log is public, you'll receive a unique URL that you can share freely. You can also toggle back to private whenever you want, ensuring your control over who can see your decisions.
We understand the importance of privacy and security. All public-facing decision logs are read-only, meaning your decision data is safe from unauthorized changes. You remain in control of what goes public, and you can revert back to private at any time.
